Grand Champion Awards and Criteria

Certificate of participation will be presented to all participants. Everyone is a winner! Forms Grand Champion titles will be formally established for many events from the Youth level up to the Executive level.

Traditional Forms Grand Champion
This category includes Level 2, Adult & Executive Traditional competitors (men & women together). A competitor must rank 1st in ALL required events:
• 1 Barehand event (does not include Open Events)
• 1 Short Weapon Event (straight sword or sabre)
• 1 Long Weapon (staff or spear)
• 1 Open Event (weapon or barehand)

Finals: Qualifiers compete in one barehand form of choice on Sunday.


Modern Wushu Forms Grand Champion
This category includes Level 2, Adult & Executive Traditional competitors (men & women together). A competitor must rank 1st in ALL required events:
• 1 Barehand event (does not include Open Events)
• 1 Short Weapon Event (straight sword or sabre)
• 1 Long Weapon (staff or spear)
• 1 Open Event (weapon or barehand)

Finals: Qualifiers compete in one barehand form of choice on Sunday.


Internal Forms Grand Champion

This category includes Level 2, Adult and Executive, Men and Women divisions. A competitor must rank 1st in ALL required events:
• 1 of the 5 major Taiji Barehand events (Chen, Yang, Wu(Hao), Wu, Sun)
• 1 Internal Barehand event (different Taiji or other internal form)
• 1 Internal Weapon event (sword or other weapon)

Finals: Qualifiers compete in 1 of the 5 Major Taiji barehand of choice on Sunday


Chin Woo Forms Grand Champion
All competitors will compete against each other in one division (no levels, men & Women together). Competitors must compete in ALL 5 Compulsory Events:
• Gongliquan (Strength Boxing)
• Jiequan (Connecting Fist)
• Baguadao (Bagua Broadsword)
• Qunyangun (Sheep Flocking Pole)
• Wuhuqiang (5 Tiger Spear)

Criteria: 10 points are given for 1st, 7 for 2nd, and 5 for 3rd. Highest total points in ALL 5 required compulsory events determines winner:

Tie breaker: Reperform Jiequan


Junior Forms Grand Champion
Division: Level 2, Junior, Male & Female

Criteria: 10 points are given for 1st, 7 for 2nd, and 5 for 3rd. Highest total points in any number of individual form events. 2-3 Person Sets, & Chin Woo Forms are excluded.

Tie breaker: One barehand form of choice


All Around Internal / External Grand Champion
Division: Level 2, Adult & Executive, Internal AND External, Men & Women
Criteria: 10 points are given for 1st, 7 for 2nd, and 5 for 3rd. Highest total points in ALL required “All-around” events determines winner:
• Taiji Weapon (long or short)
• Taiji Barehand (any style)
• External Long Weapon (does not include Open Events)
• External Short Weapon (
does not include Open Events)
• External Barehand Form (
does not include Open Events)

Tie breaker: One barehand form of choice
